My first real book series addiction arrived in the form of The Dark is Rising<\/a>, a book and series by Susan Cooper. I loved books by that time, but this was the first series I absolutely obsessed over (shy of collecting news articles which were not readily available for books written in the ’70s).<\/p>\n

Will Stanton begins noticing strange things on his eleventh birthday. Soon thereafter he discovers he is the “last” of the Old Ones, and a whole view of the world is opened to him that others cannot share. Now, he must find the signs that will allow good to battle evil.<\/div>\n

It’s been years since I last read this, but I absolutely adore the book and series. I love the legend and creation. I love the story and I love the tale itself. I’m not giving you a huge review, but don’t let that get in the way of your reading a wondrous story.<\/div>\n
