I thought it had been nearly ten days since my last post, but it’s only been a week and a day – still pretty close to ten days, but not exactly the same.
A few days ago I finished reading James Dashner’s The Maze Runner (I realize that, based on the number of posts that mention him, I must sound like a Dashner addict, which I’m not). Amazing book! But such a cruel end to the story. What kind of author leaves the reader on such a gut-wrenching ending? I mean, I definitely want to read his second Maze Runner book, but I’d rather not have to go through another ending like that for a while.
So in the meantime I’ve finally picked up Brandon Mull’s Fablehaven 2: Rise of the Evening Star. Haha, having read the first book, I understand the title of the second one. Which means I can pretty well guess what the book is about (I’m only at chapter four right now). I also began reading The People of Sparks which is the second Book of Ember. Not yet sure what to think of it, but reading the whole book will tell.
Anyway, I don’t have much else going on right now. I’ve been growing some mint plants since summer of last year. I started them from seeds, and while they’re growing fine, I can understand all the internet sites that mentioned how much better it is to just purchase a pre-grown plant. My mint plants are no more than a foot tall at most and I’m debating what to do about them. I figure they might strengthen and such during this upcoming summer. Well, that’s the hope anyway. I’d like to make use of them – take them out of the plastic bag that helped them grow during the winter. As I’ve said a lot lately in my writing (although not on this site), we’ll see.
