Day 2 and I’ve managed to keep with my goal so far.
Ha.
Haha ha ha.
I figured it’d be good to at least give an update on my life, you know, since I’ve got thirty days to fill and all.
I’m working at a library these days, and while that’s all fine and everything, I’m actively pursuing a writing career. I. I. I. I completed the final draft of “book 1” and have begun shopping it around to agents. I say shopping because I’ve heard that term used before, but it’s more like solicitation or door-to-door salespeople: I don’t “buy” the agent, the agent “buys” me.
It’s a long process, what with waiting to hear back from anyone and sending queries out to others.
In the meantime, I’ve been writing book 2 and plotting book 3. I know the general plan of each book but struggle when I don’t know the actual run-through of what I want to write. For those who know where my story is headed, realize it’s a story process, not everything up front and center.
Anyway, so that’s where I’m at: working at the library, querying on book 1, writing book 2 and plotting book 3. Oh, and reading Edmund Spencer’s The Faerie Queene (A. C. Hamilton’s 2nd edition). Like any Old or Middle or whatever English it’s in, the story is a slow read but fun.
I noticed recently that my handwriting of stories is going far better than it has for many, many years. I’m not sure what to make of that, but hey, it’s cool and promising at least; I’ve never liked my whole reliance-on-a-computer-in-order-to-write-stories-idea. It’s not how I started, it’s not how I improved and it’s not how I prefer to write (except for the speed).
That’s me in a nutshell, or a pea-pod or a half-shell or a shenanigan. Day 2 finished.
