This is a sampling of poems I wrote during Basic Training and AIT together known here as OSUT, One Station Unit Training. Each break indicates a different poem but having typed them all up I realize they can be read as an entirety to be one single poem. So read this how you will:

Living’s easy, dying’s hard
you fight like you care and kill like you don’t.

That summer smell of death and rot,
that winter’s tomb and die-er’s plot,
Spring is life and fall is death,
all-in-all a twist of fate.

Shadows on the walls of time
Darkness spreads and overthrows
All within its reach it kills
And in its time it brings the end.

Wishes die and dreams are shattered,
say goodbye to all that mattered.
Life of rot and life in hell,
tell me that it’s just a tale.
